PosturePals are adhesive spinal supports that adhere directly to the skin, much in the same way as your manual therapist might tape you. They remain in place for three to five days depending on your activities. PosturePals have elastic properties which help you to maintain your desired position and to retrain correct posture whether it be when you are sitting or driving, standing over your golf ball or any time where you feel that you slouch or slump.
PosturePals® work in three ways:
Restriction
PosturePals® help to maintain a neutral spine, reduce loading at end of range flexion and assist on return to neutral.
Recognition
PosturePals® draw attention to activities that place the wearer in a poor position so that these activities can be modified.
Re-education
Active correction and repetition is aimed at increasing strength and endurance and retraining improved postural habits just as one retrains a new tennis serve by practising correctly hundreds of times.
Two Sizes
PosturePals™ Thoracic Small is used in exactly the same way as the PosturePals™ Thoracic Original but is designed for people with smaller frames.
The device measures 30cm across at the shoulders and 25cm high. This is compared to 36cm wide and 30cm high for the PosturePals Thoracic Original.
Please remember that you must allow an additional centimetre or two in width across your shoulders to accommodate the stretch that is applied to the PosturePals support during application.
